The pay-per-view game Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor kicked off with great fanfare, kicking off the show with a ROH World Championship match. ROH World Champion Jonathan Grisham will face AEW’s latest signature Claudio Castagnioli for the title, and it was a physical and technical battle between the two throughout the match. Castagnoli would eventually end up pinning Grisham to become the new world champion at ROH, and while there was some criticism regarding the length of the match and the start of the show, fans are all in on Claudio becoming the world champion, and you can check out some of the reactions flying starting from the slide next.
There is some criticism here and there, as to whether it was too early to put the title on Claudio, but only because it was recently signed. Claudio was a fan favorite throughout his time in WWE (when he went alongside Cesaro), and they couldn’t be happier for him now that he’s the world champion in ROH.
The fans in attendance were definitely in Claudio’s corner, and he received a huge backlash when he finally pinned Gresham as the new champ.
